REE*START

 REE*START is a John Howard Society youth program that offers:

  • Resources – assistance getting I.D. and training for employment, referrals to services.
  • Education
  • Employment – resumes, employment coaching, job search, interview techniques, 
  • Support – you set the goals, they will support you to achieve them through advocacy and referral.
  • Teaching
  • Advocacy
  • Respect
  • Transition

REE*START is open to all youth (age 15-22) at any stage in their life. Whether the youth requires help with a specific issue or just someone to talk to, the Youth Transition Advisors are there as a support.

Participants are involved in the program on a voluntary basis and are self referred therefore they must want to change their criminal behaviours, and must be willing to make a commitment to the program.

Do I qualify?

  • Open to youth with or without Criminal Justice status, and with or without involvement in Alberta Children’s Service
  • Referrals accepted from any outside agency, family member, individual or self-referral
  • Participation is voluntary
  • Client must want to change their criminal behaviours and be willing to make a commitment to the program
